In 1992, he accepted a call to return to parish ministry at St Andrews Church in Glenwood, Maryland, and then retired in 2003. In 1998, he received the degree of Doctor of Ministry in Advanced Studies in Congressional Development from Seabury-Western Theological Seminary.
