The Episcopal Story coverOctober 8, 2015

Bexley Seabury congratulates Academic Dean Tom Ferguson on the publication of The Episcopal Story: Birth and Rebirth, his account of the history of Christianity with a focus on the emergence of the Anglican Communion and The Episcopal Church. Volume 2 in the series Church′s Teachings for a Changing World, Ferguson′s book is intended to provoke new insights for seasoned church leaders while also offering a primer for individuals who may be new to, or outside the church. The book is scheduled to be in bookstores on October 10, 2015.

“Tom Ferguson is well known for his encyclopedic command of church history and excellent teaching skills. I can think of no one better suited to tell this story,” said Bexley Seabury President Roger Ferlo. “We’re delighted that anyone with an interest in the development of Christian thought and practice can, in effect, study with Tom through this book.”

The Church′s Teaching Series was initiated following World War II to provide adults with a basic understanding of the teachings of The Episcopal Church. Updated twice since, the series has become a mainstay on seminary, clergy, and church library bookshelves. Ferlo wrote Opening the Bible, volume 2 in the previous series, which remains in print. The current series will include nine books.
