Job Title: Associate Rector for Children’s and Youth Formation       


Supervisor: Rector


Purpose and Function:

The Associate Rector for Children’s and Youth Formation will share in the priestly ministry of the parish with the rest of the clergy team, including liturgy, pastoral care, and formation, with a particular focus on Children’s and Youth Ministries. The ultimate purpose of St. Paul’s Children and Youth Ministries is to provide a safe, fun, engaging environment for children, youth, and families to find their place in the world as children of God and disciples of Jesus.




  • Celebrate weekly Sunday Eucharist and preach monthly
  • Share, with other members of the clergy team, in the provision of pastoral care and administration of baptisms, weddings, funerals and other rites of the Church
  • Foster a community of meaningful relationships among children, youth and families through regular participation in children and youth activities (including formation activities, EYC, and other special events)
  • Supervise the part-time Children’s Ministry Coordinator and part-time Youth Ministry Coordinator and provide support to lay volunteers
  • Guide, support, and advise Children’s and Youth formation, including assisting with curriculum selection and developing relevant programming
  • Facilitate programs to deepen the incorporation of children and youth into the life of the parish
  • Create and present liturgical offerings to the children and youth community
  • Engage with emerging technologies to connect children, youth and families with the wider parish
  • Encourage participation in the life of our Diocese among children and youth
  • Lead regular chapel services for preschool children



  • Ordained Episcopal priest or transitional deacon
  • Collegial and collaborative approach to ministry
  • Commitment to maintaining a rich spiritual life, healthy boundaries, and self-care
  • Ability to laugh at one self
  • Skilled in recruiting and training leaders
  • Passion for working with children and youth
