Worship & Formation

Worship

Regular worship is an integral part of our daily life.

As a rule, we worship in the Clark Chapel. Our community gathers for Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Holy Eucharist, although the exact rhythm of worship during the week depends upon the course scheduled and the nature of the course being offered.

We often sing the liturgies, using the several Episcopal hymnbooks. In addition to the Book of Common Prayer, we make use of liturgies from the entire Anglican Communion, as well as the commemorations found in Holy Women, Holy Men. Daily prayers always include intercessions for Bexley Seabury alumni, faculty staff and benefactors.

Many staff and faculty members also join with our colleagues at Chicago Theological Seminary (CTS) for all-community worship Wednesdays at noon in the 4th floor chapel. CTS is intentional about making Wednesday worship experiences as diverse as the community. These services are streamed online.

In addition, students are welcome to visit the Wells Clarke Meditation Room for private prayer and reflection.
