Kathryn “Kitty” Cole is a community organizer whose work life was devoted to housing issues. She joined the Church of the Holy Spirit in Lake Forest, Illinois as a Presbyterian because she was determined to be part of Lake County United, a non-profit, non-partisan organization of civic institutions doing justice. She fell in love with the Episcopal Church and was confirmed several years ago.
Cole has served on the vestry at Holy Spirit, helped lead the mission and outreach ministry, and inaugurated a pilot program with the Waukegan Public Library to teach English as a second language to mothers and children.
